General Availability of LIEKKI™ 100 W CW Optical Engine Modules

Lohja, Finland  September 10, 2007

LIEKKI Corporation, a leading supplier of highly doped fibers and optical engine modules for fiber laser and amplifier applications, today announced the general availability of its 100 W CW optical engine modules.

LIEKKI has moved forward from the prototype stage to general availability of its 100 W CW optical engine modules. LIEKKI™ optical engines integrate the entire fiber amplifier or laser glass elements like active fibers, passive fibers, pump combiners, fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs), pump dumps and filters into a thermally engineered package. This enables fiber laser manufacturer or system integrator to dramatically reduce the product development time and to concentrate on the full system development and integration.

Today, LIEKKI™ OE-Yb-L-100 modules have completed final design and qualification, and we have started to accumulate many hours of these devices under test.

The current line of LIEKKI™ optical engine modules consists of ytterbium fiber based CW laser and amplifier modules emitting at the 1030 - 1090 nm wavelength range, with output powers up to and exceeding 100 W.
