This newly created position recognizes the increasingly important role nLIGHT’s suppliers play in our success. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated success working with multiple suppliers in a win-win approach. Ultimately, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that nLIGHT’s Preferred Suppliers eliminate escaping defects, while simultaneously setting these suppliers up for success by involving them in early discussions about new part requirements.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years working in Quality Engineering, preferably Supplier Quality Engineering.
Candidates should have a proven track record of developing suppliers’ quality performance including integrating suppliers into the product development process.
Analytical skills, project management, use of statistical software, communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Math/Statistics
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Math/Statistics, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
The successful candidate can work out of either our Vancouver, WA or Hillsboro, OR offices. However time allocation will likely be:
30% spent face-to-face with Development Engineers and other functions in Vancouver
30% spent at suppliers sites
Travel will include overnight stays, and occasional overseas destinations.
