Document Control Specialist

The Document Control function is responsible for managing the nLIGHT ECO Process, including the release and update of QMS documents in nLIGHT’s PDM System, and items and BoMs in nLIGHT’s ERP System.
This position is for an established Document Control Specialist, with experience in managing change control processes and controlled documents in an ISO9001 environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the continuing growth of nLIGHT’s business. The successful applicant will work across all parts of the business, supporting locations in the US and China.

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ECO Management
    • Verifying ECOs for completeness and correctness
      • During approval process and during release process
    • Checking status of ECOs and resolving any issues
      • ECOs started but not submitted
      • Rejected ECOs
    • Releasing approved ECOs
      • Document, item, BoM etc.
    • Maintaining and publishing ECO Process performance indicators
    • Ensuring ECOs are reviewed and released promptly
    • Identifying and proposing improvements to the ECO Process
  • Deviation Management
    • Verifying deviation submissions for completeness and correctness
    • Launching deviation workflows
    • Checking status of deviations and resolving any issues
    • Determining which deviations need renewing
    • Maintaining and publishing Deviation Process indicators
    • Ensuring deviations are reviewed and released promptly
    • Identifying and Proposing improvements to the Deviation Process
  • Document Management
    • Verifying format of QMS documents during release process (footer, logo, section numbers…)
    • Allocating/reserving document # as required
    • Ensuring QMS documents are reviewed at a maximum of two year intervals
    • Managing controlled document templates
  • Environment, Health, & Safety
  • Support EHS tasks and improvement activities

Preferred EXPERIENCE: 

  • At least 5 years document control experience in an ISO9001 environment
  • Working with PDM and ERP Systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree
