Position Summary:

Be part of a high-performance accounting and finance team at a publicly held company focusing on cost accounting and inventory valuation.  Streamline processes to enable future growth, and collaborate within accounting and finance, and across the business, for continuous improvement of systems, reporting and internal controls. You need to be a hands-on professional who will ensure proper accounting of business results as well as improve the quality of data on which decisions are made. We are seeking a self-starter with high personal and professional values, strong work ethic and positive attitude.  This position reports to the Cost Accounting Manager and is located in Vancouver, WA.


  • Perform month-end inventory close processes, entries, and reconciliations.
  • Help maintain standard costs and assist in developing and updating labor and overhead rates.
  • Analyze changes in inventory and manufacturing expenses, and support internal controls related to physical inventory and cycle counting.
  • Assist in the preparation of reserve calculations and investigate variances related to purchase price and manufacturing.
  • Help prepare financial reports and analysis in support of management reporting, forecasting, external financial reporting, quarterly reviews & the annual audit.
  • Participate in system implementations and testing as needed, identify process improvements, and support efforts to streamline and automate business processes.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures and sharing best practices across the organization.
  • Assist in documenting and testing internal controls in support of annual SOX compliance
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and ability to communicate accounting concepts.
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-tech industry with solid knowledge of costing theory and principles preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX desired.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Enjoys problem solving and streamlining processes, and embraces leadership opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
