MOCVD Technician

nLIGHT is seeking a MOCVD Technician to join our team at our Vancouver, Washington location. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the MOCVD reactors and assessment tools either directly or through the work of operators/technicians. This individual is accountable for ensuring that the quality of materials produced by the MOCVD tools meets the required specifications.

Functions

  • Support government and internally funded research and development efforts by effective operation of MOCVD processes
  • Sustain production MOCVD wafer processes for manufacturing high power semiconductor lasers
  • Identify opportunities for continuous yield, throughput and cycle-time improvements
  • Monitor control of manufacturing processes through SPC
  • Create and/or improve documentation of processes and procedures for ISO
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials or Chemistry is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of manufacturing/development experience in III/V semiconductor MOCVD technology or equivalent.
  • Background in Science or Engineering field.
  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge of or experience with materials characterization techniques including but not limited to AES, SIMS, EDX, PL, ECV, XRD, SEM, TEM, AFM, I-V and C-V measurements.
  • Good analytic and communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively summarize and present results.
  • Self-motivated and a strong team player.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
