IQA Inspector

nLIGHT is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our quality team located in Vancouver, Washington. This role will perform sample inspection and measurement of incoming parts and paperwork to satisfy production requirements. This role supports first article inspection of new parts and/or parts from new suppliers. This position will record inspection results and initiate disposition of non-conforming parts.

This is a temporary position. Duration: 3-6 months, 40 hours per week.

Functions

  • Inspect parts/material/paperwork.
  • Complete inspection records.
  • Raise NCMs for non-conforming material.
  • Complete Incoming Inspection data for Supplier Quality reporting

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred
  • Experience with Inspection/measurement of precision mechanical and optical components/assemblies, and printed circuit board assemblies using micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, microscopes, optical comparators, Coordinate Measuring Machines, etc. required.
  • ERP system transactions knowledge required.
  • Inspection of components for laser diode assemblies and fiber optics preferred
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings.
  • Understanding of basic quality terms, definitions and concepts
  • Ability to use inspection equipment including CMM and identify/recognize measurement errors and initiate corrective actions
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs such as Excel, Access etc.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
