nLIGHT is seeking a Wafer Fab Supervisor to join our Wafer Fab Operations team located in Vancouver, Washington.

The FAB Supervisor will lead Day & Swing shift manufacturing teams to achieve nLIGHT’s Wafer Fabrication Production goals, whilst maintaining/improving standards of standards for safety, quality and productivity. 

You will have daily interaction with multiple teams and be responsible for all production activities across Front End departments.  You need to be a highly motivated leader with a proven track record of growing people, Lean Mfg., and continuous improvement.  This position will involve the day to day leadership (stand-up meetings etc) on the Clean room floor.  

Functions

  • Training and develop team members to achieve aggressive output goals
  • Coordinate workflow through Front End departments
  • Lead and report out in daily manufacturing meetings
  • Identify staffing needs and assist with capacity planning
  • Lead LEAN, 5-S, value stream mapping, and continuous flow activity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences preferred
  • 2+ years Supervisor experience ideally with wafer fabrication processes or other high volume manufacturing of a complex nature
  • Competent in general production methodologies and metrics (KPI’s)
  • Semiconductor supervisory/management experience desirable
  • Experience with LEAN and 5-S implementation and maintenance 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with minimal direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively (in both written and oral form) with employees of various backgrounds, education, and national origin
  • Ability to investigate and lead solutions to manufacturing constraint issues
  • Basic understanding of computer business applications and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)
